Part One: How to Play Texas Holdem Poker

While there are many different types of poker to play online, the most popular type of poker is Texas holdem poker. Through these basic poker rules we'll show you how to play poker and start winning your hands.
There are two dealers in every Texas Holdem poker game. A small dealer button will identify the who is the dealer at the time and moves clockwise. Before the cards are dealt, every player must put down a minimum bet. The player to the left of the dealer puts the small blind, or the first blind bet, and the blind bets continue clockwise. The second player to the left of the dealer then places the big blind, which is a bet double that of the small blind. For example, if the first player puts down $20 the next player must double the bet and put down $40.
After all players have put in their blind bets, each player will be dealt two cards by the dealer. These cards are kept private and no one else should see them. These first cards are your first indicator about which direction your hand may go. While two cards doesn't tell you alot about how the poker game will end up, it's still important to analyze these cards and think about the potential hands that you can play.
After these first cards are dealt, poker players will move around the table and the betting will begin. Players can call either a big blind, raise of fold. Players raise the amount that all players have to bet in order to continue playing, or if they are less confident in the prospects of their hand, they will place a small blind, the minimum amount for continuing to be a part of the round.
Next, the dealer puts three cards face up on the poker table and the person to the left of the dealer starts betting. These three cards can tell you a lot about the prospects of your hand. Shortly after this third round of betting, where players once again decided whether to raise or fold, a fourth card is placed face up in the center of the table and another round of betting begins.
